Observations from practice:
​Whenever you want to cheer yourself up or give an adjustment to your thoughts consider the positive qualities of friends and family members.  We all know someone who is generous, or the family member who is always upbeat with high energy, or perhaps the artist who is creative and inspirational.  Or any other quality that you feel is admirable.

Generosity – Modesty – Heart – Joy

Nothing cheers the heart as quickly as thoughts and images of excellence we see in others.  It is important to know that we also hold those qualities in ourselves when we recognize them in others.  We can quickly accomplish two things when practicing this mind shift:  gratitude & joy
